At Rochester:

• Three letters a piece for football and track and field
• Established the indoor 200 record and the outdoor mile relay record
• Held a Prize Scholarship
• President of the junior class and the Student Association
• Numerous honor societies including Chi Rho and Theta Pi Sigma as a sophomore, Mendicants as a junior, and Keidaeans as a senior
• Graduated with Highest Distinction in History in 1942

Post-Graduate:

• MBA With Distinction from the Harvard Business School in 1946
• Joined the firm of Stein, Roe & Farnham, an investment counseling firm in Chicago, in 1946
• Made a partner in 1954 and ultimately vice chairman
• Retired in 1991
• Served as a University Trustee from 1965-1981, now a Life Trustee
• Has been the Chairman of the Chicago Alumni Club since the 1960s
