           JOHN GHYZEL, a pitcher from the baseball
           team who recently just completed his junior
           season for the Yellowjackets, has been drafted
           by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2017 Major League
           Baseball Amateur Draft.

           Ghyzel, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound, right-hander, was
           selected with the second pick of the 18th round,
           which took place on June 14, 2017. In 2017, he
           went 3-2 on the mound in nine appearances
           (eight starts) for Rochester and tossed 42.1
           innings, nishing with a 4.25 ERA and a team
           high 50 strikeouts. For his career at Rochester,
           he is 11-5 with a 3.97 ERA and 127 strikeouts in
           136 innings. The Centreville, Virginia, native is a
           two-time All-Liberty League performer, earning
           First Team accolades in 2016. He becomes just
           the second University of Rochester pitcher to
           be drafted in the MLB Amateur Draft, joining
           pitcher Michael Weiermiller, who was selected in
           the 14th round by the Minnesota Twins in 1981.
           Weiermiller played two seasons in the minors
           with the Twins organization.
