After retiring as a mathematics instructor, I took the job of space and technology editor of Woman Pilot magazine from 1995 to 2002. My articles focused primarily on women astronauts. I have recently completed my research on Blanche Stuart Scott, a Rochester native who was the first American woman pilot in 1910.” . . . Karen Besenfelder Howland writes, “I recently moved back to Rochester and am employed as office manager for QuickSAN Corp. I love being in Rochester again, and after 30 years away, it’s fun to find some ‘old friends’ still here—places as well as people—Don and Bob’s restaurant (now Don’s Original), Wegmans, Seabreeze, lilacs in Highland Park, and more). By the time you read this, I’ll have my alumni library card and will be reading in the Welles-Brown Room again. I’m happy to be starting this new chapter of my life back in a much-loved city.”
