Gordon Borges writes, “Over the summer, I won a gold medal in the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic, on the U.S. sailing team.” . . . Maurice Edwards, an oral surgeon in Manhattan, received the New York State Dental Association New Dentist Leadership Award. Following the September 11 terrorist attacks, Maurice spent nine months volunteering in the Chief Medical Examiner’s Dental I.D. unit and also searching the rubble at ground zero for victims of the attacks. . . . Andrew Greenwood and Monica Arnow Greenwood ’91 and their two children, Zoe, 5, and Calvin, 2, moved to East Northport, N.Y., in 2002. . . . Jason Korosec writes, “I just returned from Israel, where I participated in an intensive course on terrorism, as part of a fellowship on terrorism, sponsored by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. I most enjoyed learning about counter-terrorism approaches, technologies, and weapons.” Jason sends a photo of himself at the Israel-Lebanon border, where his group toured one of Israel’s Navy tracking stations. . . . Joseph Shine and Nicole Cacossa, married in March 1997, have two children—Joseph, born December 30, 2000, and Alessandra Nicoletta, born last March 26. They report that they are “doing great professionally thanks to their four great years at Rochester.” They live in Fairfield, Calif. . . . David Valvo and Leah Crivello announce their engagement. They are planning a fall 2005 wedding. David is a podiatrist in Rochester; Leah is a physical therapist. . . . Robert Weissman writes, “On May 12, my wife, Ariana Calderon, gave birth to our first child, Jeremy Tyler Weissman. That should make him part of the class of 2025.”

John Caplan is president of the Networks Group for About.com. . . . Glenn Cerosaletti attended the 2003 NAFSA: Association for International Educators conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. Glenn works in the International Services Office at Rochester. . . . Monica Arnow Greenwood (see ’90). . . . Mark Vincent is a pediatrician in Fairfield, Conn. He and his wife, Miranda, have a son, Sam, and a daughter, Tess.

Hannah McChesney is an admissions officer for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa programs with the Council on International Educational Exchange. . . . Jacqueline Peckham and Michael Tan ’95 were married on January 11 at Walt Disney World. Greg Lukins ’94 and Lance Mortensen ’91 attended the wedding. . . . Rich Pittenger writes, “After six years with the special investigations unit of Altria (a.k.a. Philip Morris), I’ve been appointed supervisor of investigations for the New York City Housing Authority. I will handle the Authority’s investigation and enforcement of contracts. I won’t be going overseas anymore, but I was told not to put my passport away just yet—there’s still Staten Island. I’m a proud uncle, and in my free time a trustee of the Susquehannock Camps in Pennsylvania. I can usually be reached by e-mail: pittenger (at) susquehannock (dot) com.” . . . Paul Sharlow graduated from the College of Law at Syracuse University in May.

Carl Arena and Lynn Flamini were married November 23, 2002, at the Strasenburgh Planetarium in Rochester. . . . Doug Nash joined Hiscock & Bar-clay’s Syracuse office as counsel. He focuses on complex commercial litigation, including patent and trademark litigation. . . . Jennifer Nichols and James Cerankowski were married April 5. Jennifer is a school psychologist with the North Syracuse Central School District; James is employed by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department. They live in Cicero, N.Y. . . . Meredith Rowe and Christian Nibbrig ’95 were married July 19 in Newport, R.I. . . . Caryn Schenker Solomon sends a photo of her 15-month-old son, Noah, and Nicole Kane Fasold’s son, Matthew, 1, “hanging out together on Fire Island.” The Solomons live in Bethesda, Md., and the Fasolds live in Fairfield, Conn. . . . Kenneth Suzan joined the Buffalo office of the law firm Hodgson Russ. . . . Christian Tate and Alice Homolka Tate, and their daughter, Charlotte, visited Alice’s parents, George and Barbara Hunt Homolka ’59, on their farm in the Czech Republic in May. While they were there, Charlotte’s godmother, Annette Warriner Matrai, traveled from Budapest to visit with the family. They write, “Charlotte (future member of Rochester Class of 2024?) had fun playing in the fields of dandelions.”

John Bashant writes, “I have recently completed medical school and residency training at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. I look forward to becoming more involved in University events again, as I hope to have some more free time in future years.” . . . Chris Englert is a nurse practitioner in Rochester. He and his wife, Deborah Mlodynia Englert ’97M (MD), ’01M (Res) have two sons, Ethan and Evan.

1995
Keri Claiborne Boyle and her husband, Andrew, announce the birth of their daughter, Riley Jane, on May 28. They recently moved to the Boston area after living in San Francisco for two years. Keri is currently on an extended maternity leave from Hewitt Associates, where she is a management consultant. . . . Christian Nibbrig (see ’93). . . . Sharon Niehaus Peerzada and her husband, Taj, announce the birth of their third child, John Barrett Peerzada, on April 24. . . . Michael Tan (see ’92). . . . Christina Valvo ’98W (MS) and Wade Hellner announce their engagement. A June 2004 wedding is planned.

Lisa Allen ’97W (MS) and Matthew Weld were married on June 29, 2002, in Pittsford, N.Y. Lisa is a counselor at Pittsford Sutherland High School and is an assistant soccer coach at Rochester. Matthew is an application support supervisor at Vibrant Solutions. They live in Brighton, N.Y. . . . Christopher Chamberlain and his wife, Emily, announce the birth of their daughter, Molly Katherine, on July 18. Chris and Emily also have a son, Jackson, 2 1/2. . . . Nadav Enbar is currently enrolled in a one-year master’s degree program in social sciences at the University of Chicago. He writes that he’s “focusing on the marketing of alternative energy consumption. Good peeps can reach me at nenbar_2000 (at) yahoo (dot) com.” . . . Scott Raffo ’00M (MD) and Mary Kearns Raffo ’97W (MS) announce the birth of their son, Mason Scott, on February 28. They write, “Everyone is quickly adjusting to fatherhood, motherhood, and babyhood!”

Nora DiMatteo ’98W (MS) and Robert Chirayath were married June 12 at Ascension Church in North Tonawanda, N.Y., where the bride’s grandparents, Joseph and Mary Camarda, and parents, Thomas and Maryrose DiMatteo, were married on the same date in 1948 and 1973, respectively. . . . Jonathan Gerenski and Leah Oliveiri plan to be married in the Interfaith Chapel at Rochester in August 2004. . . . Huey Hsiao studied in Beijing, China, and has been a representative for the Council on International Educational Exchange for several years; he spent a semester in China assisting the site director. . . . Brian Kenjarski is in residency at SUNY Buffalo, studying emergency medicine. . . . Heather Lantz writes, “I received my doctor of optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in May. I will be practicing at Eye Care Associates in Bradford, Pa., and Warren, Pa.” . . . Kevin Rice ’98 (MS) and Linda Mellace announce their engagement, with a wedding planned for November. . . . Maura Walsh and James Sommer were married in Albany on May 31. They are both attorneys in Manhattan.

Karrie Goldstein writes, “I got married on May 18 to Michael Goldstein (yes, I married someone with the same last name)! We live in Bethesda, Md.” Danielle Zacks Dale, Stacy Spector, Greta Gray, Faye Rosenberg ’95, and Karrie’s brother Ross Goldstein ’05 attended the wedding. . . . Cathy-Lynn Hansen and U.S. Air Force Captain Adrian Cancel were married in West New York, N.J., on July 12. Stella Ginis McTaggart and Micaiah McTaggart, Andrianna Daly Hirth and Nicholas Hirth, Gregory Carnes, David Roberts ’01 (MS), Billie Jo Mark ’99N, and Daniel Safin attended the wedding. . . . Denen Norfleet graduated from the College of Law at Syracuse University in May.

Michael Figo and Jennifer Palmer were married May 24 in Chili, N.Y. Michael is a software lab manager at Xerox, and Maureen is a closing abstractor at Public Abstract. . . . Anneliese Gordon is currently stationed in Iraq with the U.S. Army. She has continued her linguistics studies and now speaks four Arabic languages, including Egyptian and Iraqi. . . . Jason Leone has been named an assistant coach at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa. Previously he spent three years as head assistant coach at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. . . . Lauren Mangiola and Christopher Rush announce their engagement; they are planning a 2005 wedding. . . . Johnny Mei graduated from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev M.D. program in international health and medicine, in collaboration with Columbia University Health Services, in June. Having studied international health and medicine in Israel, Ethiopia, China, and New York City, Johnny looks forward to a career in internal medicine. . . . Peter Moyer and Ann Marie Keenan were married August 9 in Canandaigua, N.Y. Peter is pursuing a doctorate in podiatric medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia; Ann Marie is a physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery. . . . Russell Steinberg and Marc Samuelson graduated from the Widener University School of Law in Delaware on May 17. . . . Urmen Upadhyay writes, “I have just begun my fourth year at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. I am getting geared up to apply to residency programs in neurosurgery, head and neck surgery, or ophthalmology. It is difficult to believe that it has been five years since we graduated!
