Linda Fisher has been named to the board of trustees of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. An attorney, she is the managing director of philanthropic advisory services for the Glenmede Trust Company in Philadelphia.

1972
Carol Adams’s book, The Pornography of Meat, was published last May. . . . Cynthia Tarpley McGill received the Rochester Women’s Network 2003 “W” Award, given annually to a woman who works on behalf of women. She is the founder and CEO of Priceless Vessels, a national organization designed for senior-level executive women who desire to be empowered and become whole in character, spirit, purpose, and destiny.

David Barnes, president and CEO of Agenda-International, was named to the board of directors for the Equestrian Sports Company. He earned an M.B.A. degree from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H., and a D.B.A. degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. . . . Bret Berner is vice president of product development at DepoMed Inc. . . . L. Thomas Sperry has joined the law firm Goldsmith Agio Helms as a managing director in the company’s New York City office.

1974
Bruce Schimmel is the founding publisher and former editor of the alternative weekly Philadelphia City Paper. He currently writes the lead editorial for the paper’s op—ed page. The Philadelphia City Paper was judged best among weeklies statewide in 2002 by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers Association. Bruce also won a “best promotion” 2003 Golden Reel award from the National Federation of Community Broadcasters for his radio series Life on Delmarva, aired on WSCL-FM, a National Public Radio affiliate in Salisbury, Md.

David Brown was awarded the 2003 Pfizer Award for Research Excellence by the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota. . . . Our apologies to Pat Yuzawa-Rubin: She is associate vice president of grants and community services for the Jewish Federation of Chicago and the current president of the Chicago chapter of the national Japanese-American Citizens League, not the Rochester chapters of these organizations, as was stated in the Fall 2003 issue of Review.

Robert Dardano was accepted into the 2003—04 Leadership Development Program at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The program trains individuals to develop technical and leadership skills and to gain the experience they need to manage libraries and other cultural institutions. . . . Craig Evans is senior managing director of institutional investment sales at Colliers ABR in New York City. Craig also reports that three of his children are in college. “James, at Duke, spent a term in Seville, Spain. Natalie, at Harvard, headed for South America, having spent last summer in China. Daphne, at Wellesley, was a camp counselor in Keesville, N.Y. Peter, a high school junior, visited Rochester this summer! My wife, Lee, continues to write on environmental, population, and women’s issues.”. . . Terry Gillen was appointed special assistant for economic development policy by Governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania. . . . Jonathan Rubenstein was appointed to the Deutsch Family Chair of Ophthalmology at Rush University in Chicago.

June Castellano is the 108th president of the Monroe County (N.Y.) Bar Association. She is only the fifth woman to head the association. . . . Denis O’Leary has been appointed to Network Associates’ board of directors. . . . Maureen Picard Robins, a literacy coach in Queens, recently published The Good Teacher Mentor: Setting the Standard for Support and Success.

Robert Bly has published his 57th book, the second edition of Careers for Writers & Others Who Have a Way with Words. . . . Steven Ressel writes, “I have two children—Marili, born May 14, 2000, and Evan, born April 16, 2001. I practice optometry in Hauppauge, N.Y. . . . Marie Schmitz was elected chair of the math/computer science department at the city campus of Erie Community College in Buffalo.
