           RANDY ROSIER

When Randy Rosier ’77M (MS), ’78M (MD), ’79M (PhD) retired
in 2013, he left behind an extensive legacy at the University of
Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. In addition to serving
as an esteemed professor of biochemistry and biophysics and
chair of orthopaedics, he established an Osteoporosis Center, the
Center for Musculoskeletal Research, and a molecular biology
research program for growth factor regulation of cartilage
           development and regeneration.

From 2000 to 2005, Randy was the founding director of the
Center for Musculoskeletal Research. The Center, which marked
its 20th anniversary in 2020, remains one of the top ranked NIH-
funded orthopaedic research programs nationally. When Randy
first founded the Center, it had a small handful of clinical faculty.
