VISITING NURSE SERVICE • More than 1,500 patients had their blood pressure, temperature, weight, oxygen and glucose levels monitored right from their homes using Telehealth technology, resulting in an estimated annual health care cost savings of $1.5 million. • Despite federal budget cuts and increased food costs, $ nutritious meals to more than 2,000 recipients, helping Meals On Wheels continued to deliver 300,000 to keep more Monroe County seniors healthy and independent in their homes. $279,968 Pledged • A partnership with We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, empowered hospice professionals to meet the unique needs and honor the service of dying veterans. WILMOT CANCER CENTER • Te Judy DiMarzo Clinical Cancer Survivorship Program was launched. Te program—the frst of its kind in the region—gives cancer survivors the network and resources they need to live healthier lives afer cancer treatment. • Te Center was one of only 79 cancer centers in the country to receive the 2012 Outstanding Achievement Award by the American College of Surgeons’ $ organizations dedicated to improving outcomes and Commission on Cancer— a consortium of professional quality of life for cancer patients. $3,912,835 • Researchers developed a new imaging system that has Pledged proven to be highly efective in identifying prostate cancer. Te system, combining ultrasound and laser technologies, could potentially be used to also detect and monitor breast, kidney, liver, skin, and thyroid cancers.
