Meet Nelson Huertas, Jr., ORPA Research Adminstrator

One of our newest members joining the ORPA research administration team is Nelson Huertas, Jr. Nelson joined ORPA in June 2026, after earning his MBA from the Simon School. Since 2020, he was a Clinical Trials Project Manager in the Department of Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases where he provided operational oversight, regulatory operations support and clinical trial leadership. Prior to this position, Nelson served as a technical associate in the Department of Medicine. Nelson also holds an MS degree in Medical Management. When he is not negotiating the ins and outs of 2 CFR 200, Nelson spends much of his free time on home improvement projects. Whether your question is “does this cost need prior approval” or “should I use a Phillips head or a flat head?”, Nelson is your guy!
