Academic Support

The University of Rochester has a variety of offices, centers, and resources available to support your studies as a Summer Sessions student.

Academic advising

Academic advisors in the College Center for Advising Services (CCAS) are available to assist you with academic planning. CCAS advisors can help you select courses, provide you with information concerning academic policies, and refer you to other campus offices. Advisors are available for both walk-in and scheduled appointments.

Online learning resources

The Learning During Times of Disruption website includes multiple resources that address and troubleshoot the logistics of learning online. Additionally, the Learning Center has also created the Study Skills Guide to Mastering Remote Learning which contains useful information for students at all levels in and many disciplines.

Writing and speaking support

You can access resources and support through the Writing and Speaking Center including:

  • Writing and speaking tutoring
  • Writing groups
  • Graduate writing project workshops or boot camps (only for students taking graduate courses)

We encourage you to email wsap@rochester.edu to get added to the student database, which will allow you to use the center's online appointment system.

Academic research support

With an extensive range of resources and world-renowned collections of rare and unique materials, the River Campus Libraries provides a starting point for all scholarly endeavors at the University of Rochester. Make an appointment with a librarian or browse the online research guides and other virtual resources to help you find the information and materials you need to support your coursework.
