THE COLLEGE
• 20 percent of undergraduates are first-generation college
students, thanks to financial aid and scholarship support.
• Students have access to more than 120 courses in which
they can explore American Sign Language, positive
youth development, urban crime and justice, and water
use and conservation.
• Diverse experiential learning opportunities are
available for all students. 96 percent participate in
internships, 77 percent are involved in undergraduate
research, 90 percent engage in one or more of the
250+ student organizations and 30 percent participate
in education abroad.
All dollars pledged toward the College are included in the Arts,
Sciences & Engineering total.
HAJIM SCHOOL
OF ENGINEERING
& APPLIED SCIENCES
• Financial aid played an important role in recruiting the
best and the brightest students. Over the past decade,
undergraduate classes have more than doubled in size.
• Students participated in six different industry road trips,
thanks to a partnership with the Gwen M. Greene
Center for Career Education and Connections.
These help students experience what it may be like to
work in a specific industry, providing opportunities to
explore career options, learn about skills and competencies
needed in various sectors, build networks, and explore
internship options.

• George Eastman Circle members support made it possible
for students to attend a number of national conferences,
including the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society
of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the
Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE).
