LIBRARIES
• The iZone–Imagination, Ideas, Innovation –provides
a space for students to explore their ideas and solve
problems for social, cultural, community and
economic benefit.
• The Carlson Science and Engineering Library initiated
Tinker Space, where students explore how hands-on
making and coding can support their learning in sciences
and engineering. Workshops on Python, Arduino,
Raspberry Pi, and soldering, have garnered interest.
• The Librarianship Career Exploration & Mentoring
Group, is inspiring undergraduates to embark upon a
$349,642 library career path and addressing the significant racial
diversity gap in this profession.
• The “Farewell Song of Frederick Douglass,” written
by English composer and abolitionist, Julia Griffiths,
was performed at a community-wide event in
Rochester to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth
of Frederick Douglass.
EASTMAN SCHOOL
OF MUSIC
• Tens of thousands of patrons attended remarkable
performances in Kodak Hall, Kilbourn Hall, and Hatch
Recital Hall.
• Scholarship support provided students an environment
where they can grow and adapt to the rapidly-changing
music world.
• Eastman brought world-class guest artists to Rochester,
including the Corea/Gadd Band, Sō Percussion, and
Patti LuPone.
• With special funding support, the Sibley Music Library’s
$491,645 vast collections were available to scholars and artists
from around the world.
