How to get to Rochester
The University is located within the city of Rochester, New York, nestled just north of the Finger Lakes in western New York State.
Interstate bus service
OurBus offers bus service to Rochester from a few locations in New York State and New Jersey. OurBus drops off passengers at the Greater Rochester International Airport, about a 10-minute Uber or Lyft ride from River Campus.
Plane
River Campus is about two miles from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (airport code: ROC). Car rentals, taxis, Uber, and Lyft are available in the lower level of the airport.
Train
Amtrak offers service to the Louise M. Slaughter Station (located at 320 Central Avenue in downtown Rochester) is offered on the Empire Service, Lake Shore Limited, and Maple Leaf trains. The train station is located in downtown Rochester, about a 15-minute Uber or Lyft ride from River Campus.

River Campus is located along the banks of the Genesee River, in the Upper Mount Hope neighborhood.

Local bus service
Regional Transit Service (RTS): This local bus provider stops at several locations on the Medical Center campus, from which you can easily connect to the River Campus via the University's shuttle system. View a map of connections between the RTS and UR systems, as well as RTS schedules and maps.

Many hotels offer special University of Rochester rates for incoming students and families during the beginning of the semester. We recommend that you confirm that the hotel offers special rates before making your reservation.

Please note: The University of Rochester does not provide transportation from your accommodations to campus, so you will need to utilize your hotel's shuttle service (if available) or the taxi/rideshare or local bus services listed above to travel to the River Campus.
