Molasses Spice Cookies

INGREDIENTS DIRECTIONS
Prep Time: 20 mins + overnight chill 1. In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, mix
Cook Time: 10 mins together very well the Crisco, brown sugar,

3/4 cup Crisco 2. Sift together the dry ingredients and spices
1 cup brown sugar and stir into creamed mix.
1 egg 3. Chill dough for several hours or overnight.
1/4 cup molasses 4. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375 F.
2 cups flour 5. Make small round balls of dough and roll in
2 t baking soda the granulated sugar.
1/4 t salt 6. Place on baking sheet lined with parchment
1/2 t ground cloves 2" apart.
1 t cinnamon 7. Bake about 10 minutes.
1 t ginger 8. Remove to cooling rack immediately.
*Granulated sugar set aside for rolling
dough before baking

made at Christmas, it is a cookie packed with great flavor. It was
passed down from my Grandma to my mother to me, and now to my
daughters. If I only bake one cookie at Christmas, this is the one.”
