Basic Needs Hub

The Student Support Basic Needs Hub was created to facilitate the connection of campus and community resources for students who are experiencing a time of critical need. The hub provides urgent, essential student necessities, such as food, clothing, housing, and access to academic tools. Assistance provided through the hub is not intended to replace or supplement current student financial aid and it does not need to be repaid.

Emergency Loan Program

The Office of the Dean of Students administers an Emergency Loan Program, which provides assistance to students for unexpected expenses. These have to be designated as a true unexpected emergency expense (e.g., as a result of theft, fire, family crisis, etc.) and must meet specific criteria set forth by the Dean of Students and the Office of the Bursar.

The Office of Disability Resources offers a variety of services for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty in Arts, Sciences, and Engineering. Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center (BIC)

The Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center (BIC) is a joint venture of the Office of the Dean of Students and the David T. Kearns Center. It exists to promote cultural awareness and engagement, educate on issues of identity, culture, and diversity, and provide avenues for intersection and opportunities for collaboration.

The CARE Network

The CARE Network enables members of the University community to express their concern about a person, incident, or issue by submitting one of the following reports online: CARE Referral, Bias-related Incident Report, or Community Concern Report. Making a referral or submitting a report imitates a review process and/or coordinated response involving the appropriate individuals, staff, and offices.

University Counseling Center (UCC)

UCC provides a comprehensive initial assessment and an individualized treatments plan to our members of the University of Rochester community who pay the mandatory health fee. Based on the initial assessment, a treatment plan is developed by the clinician that addresses the client’s unique needs and concerns. This plan may include recommendations such as, but not limited to: group therapy, workshops, brief therapy, referrals to community provide for specialized treatment or longer therapy services.
