Why did you choose URochester for graduate education?

I was drawn to UR primarily because of the research being conducted in my department. Although my interview weekend was held online, my conversations with professors and current graduate students were incredibly engaging and welcoming. Everyone came across as friendly and approachable. Speaking with current graduate students also highlighted the department’s strong collaborative culture, which appealed to me.

What resources or services have you found the most helpful at URochester?

The Campus Community Connection (CCC) has been especially helpful. It hosts a wide variety of student organizations, making it easy to find groups that align with almost any interest. It’s a great way to connect with others who share similar interests and to feel more involved in campus life.

What are your favorite spots on or off-campus in Rochester?

One of my favorite spots is the Genesee River, which flows right alongside campus—it’s a peaceful place to unwind. I also like the Mount Hope Cemetery, Highland Park and the Finger Lakes region. As someone who enjoys nature, I find that Rochester and its surroundings have so much to offer.
