PhD in English
Abbie Boudreaux
(She/Her)
Why did you choose URochester for graduate education?
I chose URochester because I like that the English program provides an opportunity for pedagogy experience! When I graduate, I would like to teach in higher education, so a program that is committed to fostering teaching skills was ideal for me. I also appreciate that, at URochester, the English program's culture of collaboration rather than competition makes completing the degree a little easier.
What resources or services have you found the most helpful at URochester?
I think that the Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs (GEPA) office and the CARE network are extremely helpful!
What are your favorite spots on or off-campus in Rochester?
On campus, I really enjoy working in the Art & Music Library. Off campus, I love to take hobby classes at the public library and the Brainery, visit coffee shops like Boulder or Bookeater, and go to The Lucky Flea on Sundays!
