Hartnett Gallery 2025-2026 Call For Artwork
The Hartnett Gallery at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, is now accepting proposals from individual artists, groups, and curators from the US, Mexico and Canada. This year, a panel of undergraduate students and the Hartnett Gallery Advisory Board will select one exhibition to be held from approximately Nov. 12- Dec. 11, 2026. Submissions from University of Rochester alumni artists and artists based in the Rochester area are also welcomed.
Selected artists will be guaranteed:
- A 4-to-5-week exhibition at Hartnett Gallery (Currently scheduled: Nov. 12- Dec. 11, 2026)
- Assistance installing the exhibition- around November 9-12, 2026
- A $1000 honorarium paid at the end of the exhibition
- Limited support for shipping, travel, and hotel accommodation for installation and the exhibition reception
- An opening reception and public artist talk
- Press material and PR support

Emailed applications are due by April 13, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Incomplete, late, or noncompliant submissions will not be considered.

ABOUT HARTNETT
Established in 1972, this unique triangular gallery is located in one of the main buildings of the university, Wilson Commons, which was designed by the renowned architect I.M. Pei. The gallery has a rich exhibition history that includes both artists at the initial stages of their careers and artists who are internationally known.
