Cable TV, Internet, and Phone

Cable TV

Each bedroom and common room is equipped with one co-axial cable input for connection to cable TV. Students must provide their own co-axial cables and television sets.

The University of Rochester Cable Television (UR CTV) Network is the cable television service for the University. The service features an expanded channel lineup of local and cable programming including channels from DirecTV, and several foreign language channels. Students also have access to Stream2 which is an IPTV service that allows you to watch live TV and sports from your computer, tablet, phone, AppleTV, Roku, and Amazon Firestick—giving you access to your favorite shows from anywhere on campus.

University IT manages the cable TV system. Please see their cable TV page for more details or contact them at (585) 275-2000 for any concerns or outages.

All students are provided high-speed computer access on campus, including in the residence halls where UR Connected Wifi is available. Rooms also come equipped with one ethernet port in each bedroom and common room that provides access to ResNet—the wired high-speed connection on campus. Each student is allowed two registered devices on ResNet.
